PACKING GUIDE

Packing well makes your stay at Mvubu Falls Lodge more comfortable. Here are our suggestions for what to bring.

Clothing

Eswatini's climate is warm and sunny, but evenings can be cool and the summer months bring afternoon rain. Pack light, breathable layers, a fleece or jacket for the evenings, a waterproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes or boots for the waterfall trails, a hat, and swimwear for the pool.

Essentials

Bring your passport with at least six months' validity, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, a refillable water bottle, a small daypack, a torch for evenings, binoculars for wildlife, and a camera. Power sockets in Eswatini are type M, so a South African style adapter is recommended.

Health and safety

Eswatini is a malaria-risk area in some lowland regions, so please check with your doctor before travelling. Pack any personal medication, a basic first-aid kit, hand sanitiser and insect repellent. Tap water is not always recommended for drinking; bottled water is available at the lodge.

Money and connectivity

The local currency is the Swazi Lilangeni (SZL), which is pegged to the South African Rand and accepted throughout the country. Major cards are accepted at the lodge, but carry some cash for local markets and tips. Mobile coverage is good in the valley and the lodge offers complimentary Wi-Fi.
